DEVON NICHOLSON: “I have to ask, just because I watched Steven Greer’s latest documentary over the weekend — which I wasn’t a big fan of — but he alleged in this documentary that all extraterrestrial life only wants peace. And he claimed that any cattle mutilations or abductions are only the US government trying to trick people into a false alien war. What’s your opinion on that?”
LINDA HOWE: “Who is he working for? Because that is counterintelligence lie.”

In 1953, a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) panel produced an official report on UFOs and flying saucers. Led by Howard Robertson, an American physicist, the committee also included other notable individuals such as Luis Alvarez, Samuel Goudsmit, and Thornton Leigh Page. Today, it is known as the “Robertson Panel.”

Dr. Samuel Goudsmit

In an October 1992 letter from Dr. Page to UFO researcher James Klotz, Page claimed that the group of scientists met for a rapid series of 7 meetings over 10 days in the National Academy of Sciences building. Dr. Page stated, “Right now I cannot recall the names of the other members, but they were all famous people, mostly physicists, and at least one of them too busy to attend all the meetings except the last.” He continued, “We were “briefed” by “experts” (several of the CIA agents not too expert on astronomy, optics, or radar) Their goal seemed to be to convince us that UFOs are real and may be a hazard to the US. By contrast, H.P. Robertson told us in the first private (no outsiders) session that our job was to reduce public concern, and show that UFO reports could be explained by conventional reasoning.”

Under the section called, “Unofficial Investigating Groups,” the final report stated, “The Panel took cognizance of the existence of such groups as the ‘Civilian Flying Saucer Investigators’ (Los Angeles) and the ‘Aerial Phenomena Research Organization’ (Wisconsin). It was believed that such organizations should be watched because of their potentially great influence on mass thinking if widespread sightings should occur. The apparent irresponsibility and the possible use of such groups for subversive purposes should be kept in mind”

According to Fortean author John Keel, “What this means — when it comes from someone like the CIA and ends up on a report which turns up on the desks of many high officials — it means that it really gives the FBI and the CIA carte blanche to investigate these groups. And as many of you know, they’ve done this over the years. They’ve harassed UFO investigators. Amateur UFO investigators — civilians. They’ve harassed people who have taken photographs of these things. And they’ve done it all because of these couple of sentences.”

In other words, if you are a UFO researcher in the United States, expect to be monitored by the three-letter agencies.
